Under the Wave Off Kanagawa, commonly referred to as “The Great Wave” by Katsushika Hokusai is another painting that is known around the world and adored by many. Created in the Edo period of Japan, around 1830-1832, this piece is arguably the most famous piece by a Japanese artist, and is a personal favorite of all of us at SuperiorPOD. We have our own print of this painting hanging on our shop walls, and it was well overdue to be made into a playing card deck!
